Hello.
My name is Paotie Dawson. I live in Manitou Springs, Colorado and have lived here in Colorado for almost ten years. To live in the Pikes Peak region is to live in one of the most beautiful areas in all the world. And the best part? The people who make up the Pikes Peak region.
In 2012, the Waldo Canyon fire erupted just north of Manitou Springs. Over the next few weeks, that terrible fire would destroy property and lives; but in the midst of turmoil came new forms of community: folks helped folks without care, concern or greed. In 2013 after floodwaters raged through Manitou Springs, countless residents came out to help clean up the mud and debris from the streets, a true sign of a community invested within itself and without government or even non-profits leading the way. This is what a real community does in times of need.
My goal is to restore a sense of community within the Pikes Peak region, in particular, House District 18. With your help, I will promote jobs growth, find solutions that do not require more taxes, and most importantly, I will work to give individuals, families, and small businesses a bigger voice within the state Legislature.
Together, we will make our corner of the world a better place with a great sense of community.
